Day 2
In the words of my favorite woman in the entire world… and yes that is Tyler Perry’s Madea…”Hurrrllllloooooooooo!”
Hey yall! So I've been thinking hard about the ABC's of Wedding Planning and let's be honest the first thing that popped into my brain was.... *drumroll puhhhhleeaasseeee*... BUDGET.
Letter B.
budg·et
I repeat, BUDGET! Before planning any wedding a bride and groom need to know how much of their finances, or their families finances, or even both that will be used. I know it's a struggle. There are so many things to keep account of and no time to do it! (That is why a wedding planner is a fantastic person to have during this time). I may love wedding planning but I have to admit I had my own planner who helped me keep track of my budget and numerous other things as well. Without that fine lady I think I would have gone mental. She saved Matt and I money, which most importantly kept our money in the right pockets.
Okay, I’m about to get REAL folks. We can have our dream wedding on a budget. I know, it sounds like crazy talk but if there is a will there is a way. Remember, Lesson “A” well it affects Lesson “B”. If we are not afraid to ask (humbly and thankfully--of course) then we can receive help from others and even become creative, which saves money. From literally dumpster diving to using coupons at Michaels there are tons of ways to keep in the budget. Also, there may be times when you have a set budget and it changes. Again, the SET budget helps you figure out what you are willing to spend money on whether it’s more cash on the flowers or the food. I am sure you get the picture, eh? And to all those perfectionist’s out there (I understand, believe me!) it all works out in the end! I was obsessed with flowers so we spent more money on them. As for the saving money part… let’s just say I somehow became a horder or pallets. You could even call me the pallet queen and I am not talking about your mouth kind of pallet. My previous job had tons of pallets that were thrown into the dumpster area. So, I took that as an invitation to use them for my wedding hah hah hah…my fellow employees even helped out and put them in my car. The joys of commodore!
Now, there is a lot to take into consideration when planning a wedding, which is unfortunate. So, choose wisely! Good luck ladies and gents! If anyone has any questions or has some input please leave a message
It’s been lovely,
Lena
