Day 4
Hey ya’ll! It is just one of those days where I am dying of a sore throat, which means its tea time. Other than worrying about my throat all day I have been consumed in wedding thoughts. My lovely friend from Virginia is getting married in May. I am her wedding planner and even though I am not the one walking down the aisle… I SO WISH I COULD BE! Hah hah, I loved my wedding but it’s so much fun being able to plan a beautiful and different wedding.
I wonder if my husband would mind getting married again, like every weekend? I can see his face now, a solid “NO” plastered all over it and a potential sweet “YES” to a vow renewal in 25 years. Did I mention I’m supposed to receive a new wedding ring set in 25 years? I think that’s a bit long to wait so I’m shooting for 10 years (hah hah)… yeah right.
No, but really, I have an amazing husband. I can’t wait for Rachel to embark on this journey with her soon-to-be hubby. Now, that I’ve been on a rant with about the “man” well my man I would like to mention one last thing. Please, oh please marry a man or woman who supports you. It’s a huge bonus to have Matt help me with wedding things. Luckily, I’ve found someone who is very good with his hands…tools wise among other things (haaaa). Seriously, he is Bob the Builder reincarnated. It’s nice to think I help plan/coordinate for a wedding and he can build/create amazing items for that said wedding. We are two peas in a pod. At the moment he is working on a Mr. and Mrs. Sign for Rachel’s wedding. I will definitely post a picture of the finished product.
Speaking of weddings, I have not shared the ABC word of the day:
The ABC’s of Weddings:
Letter D.
date
Now, why would I say date instead of DJ or something more creative, you might ask? Well, because a perfect DJ can be a serious affair for a bride and groom or not. I wanted a great DJ but for a reasonable price especially since I was all about the florist. The date, however is VITAL. If there is no date, then there is no wedding. Venues are booked fast and furious these days. Even before I was engaged (yes I was that person) I called venues to chat about costs and availability. I did my research. I was lucky to have my October, Fall wedding. I almost compromised with a September/August wedding with a different venue. Thankfully, Castle Hill Cidery made it happen. I was lucky. Even if it means collecting different names or companies beforehand (as in pre-engaged) I see no harm in it. When was it ever a bad thing to do your homework? It will most likely pay off.
Alrighty, I’ve got to kick this cold!
It’s been lovely,
Lena
